Spinnaker Training Class

This is an on-the-water spinnaker training class focused on practicing how to properly set, gybe, and douse a spinnaker, both symmetrical and asymmetrical. AYC member instructors will either join you and your crew on your boat or host your crew on their boat to coach crew on “who does what” and “best practices” for a smooth spinnaker set, gybe, and take-down. This class is intended for racing skippers and their crews who would like to start using their spinnaker or who already use this sail but would like coaching. Classes: J24, J22, Ensign, Multihull, Catalina 22, J80, Pearson 26 etc.

Register by email to the Sail Training Commander, per the email sent to members on June 5 and 14, 2021.

Comments: We will meet under the clubhouse at 1:00 for about 15 minutes to make boat assignments. We will reconvene under the clubhouse at 5:00 to discuss lessons learned during the class.
