Join us every Friday night for Beer Can Races!

Fun Sailing and Socializing! Friday Evenings in mid-April through mid-September, we have Beer Can Racing. Beer Can races are casual races that have staggered start times based on a boat’s handicap rating. It’s a good time to train crew or just have fun sailing. Check the AYC Calendar, NOR, and SIs for details.

Start times can be found in Appendices B and C of the SIs.

Each evening volunteers prep, prepare and serve a hearty grilled meal with veggie options, sides and cookies.

Registration: Not Required
Open to: Members Only
Venue: AYC Clubhouse, Lake Travis
Details:

  • Self Start – 1st to finish wins
  • Bottles of wine for 1st and 2nd finishers
  • Staggered Start
  • Reverse Handicap
  • Check the Notice Board for Start Time
  • Be sure to read the NOR and SIs – see right

Schedule

2024 Dates:  Friday evenings from Apr 19 – Sep 13

Start Times:
~6:30 pm in April and September (Appendix B)
~7:00 pm May through August (Appendix C)

Cookout after sailing:
Burgers, Brats, Veggie Burgers, Beans, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Chips, Cookies

Cost: $8 (via member charge sheet)
