Scout Clinic for Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge

This is a coordinated event between Sea Scout Ship 681 & Scout Troop 146 to provide on-the-water and other hands-on items to complete the Small Boat Sailing merit badge requirements.

It is envisioned the event will have minimal impact upon AYC. The only AYC water activity currently noted is the Free Sail session. Use of AYC facilities are anticipated to be the grounds, dock & bath house facilities. The leader has said they will be respectful and quiet in the area of the clubhouse during a concurrent event.

There was a request in the original FUR for use of an AYC power boat as a backup in case the Sea Scout power boat was not available, but that was resolved at the 3/25 Board meeting. A member will provide his private boat.

Comments: Water will be provided. Lunch is anticipated to be “pack your own.” If potential issue with use of Rylander Sail Training Pavilion we can relocate to either South Cove Ramp or North Ramp as appropriate.
