Program Safety Policies

Our Sail Training (ST) Policy is designed with one clear priority: the safety, well-being, and positive development of every sailor in our community. Through a structured framework of rules, certifications, and oversight, we ensure that all on-the-water and onshore activities are conducted in a safe, professional, and inclusive environment. From clearly defined instructor qualifications and supervision ratios to strict SafeSport compliance and zero-tolerance policies around misconduct, families can trust that every program is carefully managed and continuously monitored.

Equally important are the expectations placed on sailors and families, which help create a respectful and accountable culture. Participants are required to follow essential safety practices—such as wearing proper gear, staying within supervised areas, and treating others with respect—while parents play a key role in ensuring preparedness, communication, and adherence to program guidelines. Our Junior Sailing and Adult programs are built around these shared responsibilities, reinforcing both individual accountability and community standards that allow everyone to learn and grow safely.

Finally, the policy outlines comprehensive procedures for equipment use, emergency response, grievances, cancellations, and program operations.
