Adult 420 Racing Clinic
420 Sailing at AYC

Program Overview
AYC will host a series of structured 420 race clinics focused on building core racing skills through guided, on-the-water practice. Each session will follow a consistent format designed to maximize learning and repetition.
Clinics will typically begin with a brief onshore overview of the day’s focus, followed by on-the-water drills and coached race scenarios. Sessions will emphasize key racing elements such as starting technique, boat handling, mark roundings, upwind and downwind strategy, and racecourse decision-making. Sailors will have multiple opportunities to practice each skill in short, focused sequences with immediate feedback from instructors.
The goal of the program is to help sailors develop confidence in racing situations, improve consistency, and gain a stronger understanding of tactics and execution through repetition and coaching.
Registration is per boat, with only the skipper required to register. Both members and non-members are welcome. Participants in the member charter program do not need to register separately—boats should be reserved through the AYC website as usual. No additional fee is required.
