The Heat is On, High Summer at AYC! (Fri 8/14)

The Heat is On!  From Friday 8/14, daily highs look to be a bit hotter yet, ending the next several days near or above 101.  Dog Days, anyone?  With the water  86  to  91, this year’s calendar thankfully pauses regular series until 9/13.  We are still running Wednesday ILCA and Sunfish races, and Friday Beer Can.

There can be good wind these evenings, or maybe a small shower could help… or if not right where we are, we could still get a touch of cool.  More often, air this hot can be both heating and drying, so keep hydrated, and remember to protect yourself and others.  Wear soak-able sun protection, best if damp to wet and evaporating.

Beer Can runs again this Friday evening.  We’re watching and recording over 10 boats racing and several more sailing.  Do you enjoy our Beer Can meals?  Please Sign Up to Cook!  There aren’t too many more dates, so please help us fill out the volunteers list.
