The Austin Yacht Club summer sailing camp is a week-long day camp.
Camp costs will be the same as last year;
$400 per week for non-members.
$350/week for AYC members.
$50 off for additional children enrolled. Lunch is not included in this price. Lunch is available for an additional $25/week - Thundercloud sandwiches, chips, and lemonade - or campers may bring their own sack lunches.There are currently five sessions planned for the summer camp:
- Four sessions All sessions are accepting campers;
- Session No. 1 - June 7-11
- Session No. 2 - June 14-18
- Session No. 3 - June 21-25
- Session No. 4 - June 28-July 2
- Session No. 5 - July + not planned, depends on demand.
The sailing camp is for
8-16+ year olds offering an introduction to sailing, boat handling, knots and rigging, and water safety. The camp runs from 9:00AM to 5:00PM every day, with drop-off beginning at 8:00 and pick-up no later than 6:00.
The training combines chalk-talks and drills with lots of time spent on the water. The Club owns fleets of Optimist Dinghies, Lasers, FJs, and windsurfers that
are available for the campers to sail. Fridays consist of a short fun regatta, water tag, or some other competitive drill with a pizza lunch and cake and ice cream to celebrate the end of the week's session.
INSTRUCTIONS for Registering;
- Click the link to open registration form. Print and fill in the required information.
- Fax, mail, or bring to the AYC Office - check the website for hours, or drop through the mail slot in the door.
- Enclose a check for $150 deposit to hold your child's place in the camp. Payment in full will be accepted as well.
- Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per session. We will maintain a wait list of up to five campers per session.

We will e-mail additional instructions prior to the start of camp - there will be an orientation session held the afternoon of Suday, June 6, prior to the first day of camp.
AYC Member Camp Applications recieved prior to May 1st will be given first priority to the session they select.
Non-Member's Applications recieved prior to May 1st will be given 2nd priority to the session they select.
On or after May 1st all applications will be given equal priority based the date and time received.
No reservation for the camp or on the wait list will be provided until a minimum $150 deposit is received.
Members (except Student Members) can charge deposit or full amount to their accounts.
