The Austin Yacht Club summer sailing camp is a week-long day camp that provides
8-16+ year olds an introduction to sailing, boat handling, knots and rigging, and water safety. The camp runs from 9:00AM to 5:00PM every day, with drop-off beginning at 8:00 and pick-up no later than 6:00.
The training combines chalk-talks and drills with lots of time spent on the water. The Club owns fleets of Optimist Dinghies, Lasers, FJs, and windsurfers that
are available for the campers to sail. Fridays consist of a short fun regatta, water tag, or some other competitive drill with a pizza lunch and cake and ice cream to celebrate the end of the week's session.
Camp costs will be the same as last year - $400 per week for non-members, $350/week for members, and $50 off for additional children enrolled. Lunch is not included in this price. Lunch is available for an additional $25/week - Thundercloud sandwiches, chips, and lemonade - or campers may bring their own sack lunches.There are currently five sessions planned for the summer camp:
- Five sessions
- Session No. 1 - June 8-12
- Session No. 2 - June 15-19
- Session No. 3 - June 22-26
- Session No. 4 - June 29-July 2 (short week, Friday off)
- Session No. 5 - July 6-10 depending on demand and lake levels - decision to be made in April/May timeframe
INSTRUCTIONS for Registering;

- Fax, mail, or bring to the AYC Office - check the website for hours, or drop through the mail slot in the door.
- Enclose a check for $150 deposit to hold your child's place in the camp. Payment in full will be accepted as well.
- Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per session. We will maintain a wait list of up to five campers per session.

We will e-mail additional instructions prior to the start of camp - there will be an orientation session held the afternoon of Suday, June 7, prior to the first day of camp.
No reservation for the camp or on the wait list will be provided until a minimum $150 deposit is received.
Members (except Student Members) can charge deposit or full amount to their accounts.
