OK guys, we are off to the “sailing” races!
It is the end of February and it is time to get out on the lake and try our favorite Catalina 22-s again. What better way than a little friendly competition to start out the season. We have organized the first annual Oklahoma & Arkansas against Texas Challenge race to be held at the first regatta of the year, the Mayor’s Cup on April 14-15 on Lake Grapevine in Grapevine (Dallas) Texas.

We are organizing this event to promote Catalina 22 racing in Region 8 and to encourage participation by our fellow Catalina 22 sailors north of the Red River. But, if you live in Louisiana, Colorado or New Mexico you are welcome too (we will just have to rename the race). We normally have about 12 Catalinas sailing in this event and it would be great to get half a dozen out of towners.
Below is the updated 2007 schedule. The bold printed regattas are the official ones for the Texas Circuit which includes one event only at each yacht club. All of you are invited to participate in all the regattas. The signup to compete in the Texas Circuit is normally declared at the first regatta. Let me know if you have any local regattas to add.
